Good morning, afternoon or evening everyone! It's Wednesday! In two more days the weekend will be here! Or, three if don't count friday (I do) :D
I haven't had time to do my nails this week, so I'm going into the vault. I did this a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't capture the awesomeness so I never posted it. I thought what the heck, it is what it is!
I used a shimmery golden orange I made a bazillion years ago and added two coats of one of my niece Athens' creation. OMG, in real life this was awesome!
Have a great day!
P.S. The last pic is a bit blurred to capture the holo, but as you can see I had no luck :(

It's Hump Day!
Hi y'all! I hope you all are having a great week! I know I've MIA for a while, work has been keeping me busy, busy, busy!
Just a quick post.
I wanted something bright and fun for today's mani. What could be more fun than yellow and red! The yellow base coat I made last summer. I've shown a similar version of it before. I used two coats and used one of Athens' glitter creations. And, just because, I decided to do an accent finger in black. I used two coats of glitter on the yellow and one coat of the black.
Have a great day!

Sandwich
Hi everyone! It's Wednesday already! My week is just flying by! I hope y'all's is too!
I didn't have time to do a new mani per say, so I sandwiched yesterday's mani. I'm quite pleased with how this turned out. I added a thin coat of Vibrant from my Every Woman Collection and added SH TC. I love how the blue peeks out in this. Love, love, love!

Terrific Tuesday
Hi everyone! It's Terrific Tuesday! WOOT WOOT! I hope y'all's week is off to a great start!
Just a quick post. I made a glitter polish last week and I'm so in love with it! I'll post all the colors in one post next week. This is 2 coats over a red I made last year, then topped with SH TC. I had to force myself to add the glitter. I just love a classic red!

Athens' creation
Hi everyone, Saturday is finally here! I'm going to be running around all weekend. I hope you all have some great plans!
Today, I'm showing one of my niece Athens' creations. I received so many compliments on this mani. The gray with pink shimmer base color is an Essence I bought a few months ago. I cannot remember the name though, sorry. Yeah, I forgot the bottle upstairs. I then added one coat of the glitter and topped with SH TC. Very pretty! Athens has skills, I'm gonna have to put her on the payroll! :-)

Happy Friday!
Hi everyone, I've been so busy, my weeks seem to be flying by! So much to do, so little time. I hope y'all's week went by fast too!
I originally had this scheduled for Wednesday, I don't know what happened. Sorry!
I've shown this glitter before over I think a black base color. I didn't have time to do a new mani so I just layered this over the brown I showed earlier this week. This is two coats topped with SH TC.

Happy Monday
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was a nice peaceful weekend. Mr. Funky Nails went on a retreat, so Chico and I kept each other company. I listened to music, bottled polishes, and worked on new things coming to Funky Town.
Today, I have a silver holo bar, shard, and micro glitter. This is what I ended up using Saturday after I was done with bottling and all that good stuff. Anyway, this is two coats over an OPI I bought a while back. I know I say this all the time, but I left the bottle upstairs. I think this was from a collex from a Johnny Depp movie. No topcoat. I posted this on IG, but what didn't tell y'all was, I have a burgundy lipstick the exact shade and just had to put it on. Yes, I was in my PJ's all day, no makeup and added lipstick before going to sleep! HAHA! Ok, on to the pics.
Sorry, the last pic is a little sucky, but I wanted to show y'all the holo goodness.

Phoenix Tears
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend!
Today, I have a quick post.
This is Phoenix Tears from White Owl Lacquers, the creator is Mara from Marainpolishland.com. Mara is nail polish blogger who recently started her indie brand. I get so excited for anyone who has a passion for something and makes it a reality, so to show my support I purchased a couple of bottles. This is a clear based polish with blue shimmer, white & black square, blue, green, purple hex glitter. I used a Revlon royal blue as my base color and 2 coats of Phoenix Tears. I LOVE IT! The blue shimmer popped against the royal blue. I wanted to take out every single dark polish in my stash and swatch them with Phoenix Tears!
Mara sells her lovely creations on big cartel, make sure to go by her blog and follow while you're there!
I didn't get a macro shot sorry. I took a slightly blurred to try and catch some of the shimmer.

I smell spring!
Happy Saturday everyone! I hope y'all's weekend off to a great start!
I've been awake since 4:30 this morning playing with polish. As I was putting everything away I decided to use another Colores de Carol, I smell spring! So freakin cute! Buttercream frosting with bits of sprinkles is the best way to describe this. Love it! For the undies, I used a nude Zoya. Gosh, I can't remember the name and I'm to lazy to go back upstairs. It's from their 2012 Spring Collex. Anyway, I used one thin coat of Zoya, 2 coats of I Smell Spring! and topped with my mixture of TC. I didn't get a macro shot because I forgot to remove my iPad from it's case before doing my nails, sorry.

Out of my comfort zone
Hi everyone, It's Friday! Yay! This weekend I'll be attending a craft show, spending the day with My Cowboy (my youngest son) and driving us an hour for the best burger in the state! If you all ever pass through El Campo, Texas, Pinchers Seafood is the place to stop!
Did anyone see Double Divas last night? I rarely watch TV, but this show had me laughing so much. It's boobs on the move with Lin Rae Lingerie. No matter how big or small they can fit em! Haha! OMG, I thought I had an accent, too cute. If anyone wants to watch, it's on Lifetime at 9:30 CST on Thursdays. Ok, on to the mani.
Today, I have a white with pink and pastel green shimmer, silver hex, micro and shard glitter. I love this, so delicate. I was way out of my comfort zone with this one. I tend to go for bold and flashy, so this is a great change for me. I don't know why I've not swatched this before. It's been sitting on my desk for over a year now. I really do need to just spend a whole day just swatching. Anyway, I used two coats and added my mixed TC. I think I'll layer it over white next time. Both pics are inside under artificial light.
Have a great day!

Happy Wednesday!
Hi everyone, Happy Wednesday. I hope the week is flying by for you all. It sure is for me! Especially, when there's never enough hours in a day!
Today, I'm sharing a light milky blue based with multicolored small square glitter polish, with blue shimmer for good measure. The base color is a franken I did while I was at Funky Frenchies. I never did get around to showing it. Actually, I never had any intention of showing it on it's own. I still don't. When I first swatched it I didn't dig it and decided to use it as a base color for a glitter combo. Oh, I've shown this on IG too and was supposed to swatch it again before this, but didn't have time. It has a nice shimmer, I really hope I can get a sunlight pic. Anyway, this is two coats of the base color and one coat glitter. I topped with a TC of different brands. I just can't bring myself to throw them away, better to pour them all together. Ok, on to the pics.
Both pics are inside under artificial light. Sorry, I couldn't get a better pic of the macro shot.
Have a great day y'all!

Happy Saturday!
Hi everyone! I know it's been a while since my last polish post. I've been really busy with work and getting ready for the re-open and lots of awesome additions to Funky Town. I'll be posting at least 3 times a week from now on. I really miss blogging!
Before I start, I've put my hands through some tortuous experiments these past few months. So, please excuse the awful state of my hands. I'm in the process of doing some deep conditioning treatment.
I've shown this glitter before on IG and the base color is a color I posted in my Funky Frenchies days. It's a Sinful Colors, I left the bottle upstairs and forgot the name, sorry. This is a multi sized matte glitter. Such a fun mani!

Polish Us Pink
Hi everyone, I hope y'all's weekend was great!
Just a quick post.
As you all know I've been going through my stash of frankens. I found a pink I made and decided to tweak it. I took 1/3 of it and used that as my base color. Then I added holo micro and hex glitter. I made it a little sheer in case I wanted to layer it over a different color. What I love about holo glitters is that you could use them in almost any base color. So many possibilities. Anyway, much to my surprise, this is a pink I could keep on for more than it takes to get pics. Haha! I used 2 coats and 2 coats of Revlon Fast Dry TC.
Don't forget Polish Us Pink was created to spread breast cancer awareness. If you or anyone you needs information click on any of the links below.

Polish Us Pink
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend and your Monday is off to a great start :D
This a very quick post. I played with glitter all day yesterday and forgot to post this until late.
This Polish Us Pink, I have a pink I made a while back. I found this in my franken stash Saturday. I've got a ton of great colors in that stash! Anyway, I used two coats and topped with one coat of a glitter I made a while back too. This is so awesome! And, we all know I don't get along with pink polish. Haha! It looks so princess-ish. Every little girls dream color! It looks like cotton candy too! :D
Remember, let's spread the awareness. If you or someone you know needs information on breast cancer click on any one of the links below.

Fabulous At Forty!
Hi everyone, I hope y'all's weekend has been great so far!
Warning: Long post.
First, I want to say, thank you Jesus for another wonderful year of life! Thank you for Your unmerited favor. As I look back on my life, I know it's not anything that I've done, but all that You did for me at that cross on Calvary 2000 years ago. All I can say is, thank you! I'm ready and willing to receive every good thing You have in store for me! In Your name Jesus, Amen.
Today is my birthday! Go Minnie, Go Minnie, it's your birthday, it's your birthday! We gonna party like it's your birthday! Fabulous I am! Hehe! Last night we celebrated me being fabulous at forty at The Houston Texans Grille. Yes, I know I'm not a fan of football. But, I wanted something that everyone would enjoy and not everyone loves sushi as much as I do. Go figure O.O The weather was awesome for a night on the patio. I couldn't have asked for a better night. Thank honey for putting it all together and everyone that celebrated with me. Y'all are the best, I'm so blessed to have wonderful people in my life.
Yesterday, I wanted to do some stamping for my birthday mani but was at a loss for inspiration. So, I decided to blog stalk for inspiration. I immediately went to Colores de Carol She has awesome stamping skills! I saw several I loved but, I didn't have the plates. I was so bummed. I really need to update my plate collection. So, instead I decided to go through my stash of frankens. I came across a beautiful vampy blood red glitter I did earlier this year. I don't know why I've never worn it before. It's such a sexy color color! The bad part is for the life of me I cannot remember which micas I used to make the base color. I know I used two, but which two, is the question. It has gold shimmer, red micro and hex glitter, with a very small amount of holo bits. It can be worn on it's own with two coats, but I used one coat over one coat of a brown creme. It is a very thirsty glitter! I used 1 coat of Nails Inc matte TC and one coat of Poshe TC. It was shiny with a bit of texture. I think one more coat of TC was needed for a smooth glossy finish. Ok, on to the pics!
The first 2 pics are inside under artificial light.
The 3rd is in the shade.
The last 2 are inside in my one room that gets direct sunlight.

I used 2 coats of the soft pink and one coat of the cherry pink, 1 coat of my glitter, and topped with Poshe TC.

HoustonTexans Baby!
Hi everyone! I hope y'all's weekend has been great so far. I have just a quick post today.
Earlier this week my bf asked if I'd make something for today's Texan's game. He very rarely asks me to do anything polish related, so it's the least I could do :D
Earlier this year I made a blue franken that I never got around to using, so I decided this would be a good time to use it. I completely forgot to get a pic of this on it's own, sorry. I used the blue franken to tint the base and used silver micro, red hex, and silver shard glitter. I used 1 coat of my blue franken and 1 coat of Houston Texans Baby! and topped with Poshe TC.

Polish Us Pink
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. It was a busy, tiring, yet refreshing weekend for me. Friday, my bff and I attended Oprah's Lifeclass featuring Joel Osteen. It was so AWESOME! It's going to air October 28th. Make sure to watch, it's going to be great! Then, later that evening my friend Erika and I attended Lakewood Church's Fashion Event sponsored by Dillards Department Store. Oh, a shout out to the Grand Lady! She makes homemade body scrubs, body oils, and soaps. Awesome lady she is. I talked to her briefly about Funky Nails and some things I want to do. She gave me a suggestion on how to do what I want to do. While I only spoke to her briefly, I was impressed that she would help someone she doesn't know. A woman uplifting her sister is what I'm gonna call it. :D Saturday, Erika and I went back (it was a 2 day event) to hear Christine Caine from Australia. She was just AWESOME! She has an awesome testimony and powerful message. If you haven't heard of her, she's worth the google search. Sunday, I went back to church. Wow, I've never in my life been to church 3 days in a row. Yay, Minnie! As you can see I was busy, busy, busy! Ok, on to the post.
As most of us know October is breast cancer awareness month. So, to raise awareness myself and many other lovely lady bloggers are Participating in Polish Us Pink. I cannot stress enough the importance of mammograms and self self exams. Let's all do our part and spread the awareness. Today's mani is quite the opposite of last weeks soft romantic pink. This is a sheer black base with pink glass fleck and magenta hex glitter. Quite sexy. I don't know why but as soon as I put this on Santana's Maria Maria came to mind. I wanted to put on some black fishnet stocking and stilettos. Haha! Ok, on to the mani. Pictures do not do this mani justice, the pink glass fleck just sparkles like no tomorrow! I used a black base color, one coat of this and topped with Poshe TC. I'm using the same pic twice just rotated because it seems to bring out the colors in a different way.
