Polish Us Pink

Hi everyone, I hope y'all's weekend was great!

Just a quick post.

As you all know I've been going through my stash of frankens. I found a pink I made and decided to tweak it. I took 1/3 of it and used that as my base color. Then I added holo micro and hex glitter. I made it a little sheer in case I wanted to layer it over a different color. What I love about holo glitters is that you could use them in almost any base color. So many possibilities. Anyway, much to my surprise, this is a pink I could keep on for more than it takes to get pics. Haha! I used 2 coats and 2 coats of Revlon Fast Dry TC.

Have a great day :D

Don't forget Polish Us Pink was created to spread breast cancer awareness. If you or anyone you needs information click on any of the links below.

Polish Us Pink

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend and your Monday is off to a great start :D

This a very quick post. I played with glitter all day yesterday and forgot to post this until late.

This Polish Us Pink, I have a pink I made a while back. I found this in my franken stash Saturday. I've got a ton of great colors in that stash! Anyway, I used two coats and topped with one coat of a glitter I made a while back too. This is so awesome! And, we all know I don't get along with pink polish. Haha! It looks so princess-ish. Every little girls dream color! It looks like cotton candy too! :D

Remember, let's spread the awareness. If you or someone you know needs information on breast cancer click on any one of the links below.

Fabulous At Forty!

Hi everyone, I hope y'all's weekend has been great so far!

Warning: Long post.

First, I want to say, thank you Jesus for another wonderful year of life! Thank you for Your unmerited favor. As I look back on my life, I know it's not anything that I've done, but all that You did for me at that cross on Calvary 2000 years ago. All I can say is, thank you! I'm ready and willing to receive every good thing You have in store for me! In Your name Jesus, Amen.

Today is my birthday! Go Minnie, Go Minnie, it's your birthday, it's your birthday! We gonna party like it's your birthday! Fabulous I am! Hehe! Last night we celebrated me being fabulous at forty at The Houston Texans Grille. Yes, I know I'm not a fan of football. But, I wanted something that everyone would enjoy and not everyone loves sushi as much as I do. Go figure O.O The weather was awesome for a night on the patio. I couldn't have asked for a better night. Thank honey for putting it all together and everyone that celebrated with me. Y'all are the best, I'm so blessed to have wonderful people in my life.

Yesterday, I wanted to do some stamping for my birthday mani but was at a loss for inspiration. So, I decided to blog stalk for inspiration. I immediately went to Colores de Carol She has awesome stamping skills! I saw several I loved but, I didn't have the plates. I was so bummed. I really need to update my plate collection. So, instead I decided to go through my stash of frankens. I came across a beautiful vampy blood red glitter I did earlier this year. I don't know why I've never worn it before. It's such a sexy color color! The bad part is for the life of me I cannot remember which micas I used to make the base color. I know I used two, but which two, is the question. It has gold shimmer, red micro and hex glitter, with a very small amount of holo bits. It can be worn on it's own with two coats, but I used one coat over one coat of a brown creme. It is a very thirsty glitter! I used 1 coat of Nails Inc matte TC and one coat of Poshe TC. It was shiny with a bit of texture. I think one more coat of TC was needed for a smooth glossy finish. Ok, on to the pics!

The first 2 pics are inside under artificial light.
The 3rd is in the shade.
The last 2 are inside in my one room that gets direct sunlight.

Have a great day y'all :D

Polish Us Pink

Hi everyone :D I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I didn't do too much, I is was in and out most of the weekend.

This Polish Us Pink Monday, I have another glitter. This is clear based with magenta hex, fushia mixed with holo bits, small square white and white bar glitter. This is such a fun glitter. I love it! I used the soft shimmery pink for my base color that I used 2 weeks ago. A while back a made a cherry pink and decided to use that as accent finger. I used 2 coats of the soft pink and one coat of the cherry pink, 1 coat of my glitter, and topped with Poshe TC.

October is breast cancer awareness month, let's spread the word!

HoustonTexans Baby!

Hi everyone! I hope y'all's weekend has been great so far. I have just a quick post today.

Earlier this week my bf asked if I'd make something for today's Texan's game. He very rarely asks me to do anything polish related, so it's the least I could do :D

Earlier this year I made a blue franken that I never got around to using, so I decided this would be a good time to use it. I completely forgot to get a pic of this on it's own, sorry. I used the blue franken to tint the base and used silver micro, red hex, and silver shard glitter. I used 1 coat of my blue franken and 1 coat of Houston Texans Baby! and topped with Poshe TC.

Have a great day :D

Polish Us Pink

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. It was a busy, tiring, yet refreshing weekend for me. Friday, my bff and I attended Oprah's Lifeclass featuring Joel Osteen. It was so AWESOME! It's going to air October 28th. Make sure to watch, it's going to be great! Then, later that evening my friend Erika and I attended Lakewood Church's Fashion Event sponsored by Dillards Department Store. Oh, a shout out to the Grand Lady! She makes homemade body scrubs, body oils, and soaps. Awesome lady she is. I talked to her briefly about Funky Nails and some things I want to do. She gave me a suggestion on how to do what I want to do. While I only spoke to her briefly, I was impressed that she would help someone she doesn't know. A woman uplifting her sister is what I'm gonna call it. :D Saturday, Erika and I went back (it was a 2 day event) to hear Christine Caine from Australia. She was just AWESOME! She has an awesome testimony and powerful message. If you haven't heard of her, she's worth the google search. Sunday, I went back to church. Wow, I've never in my life been to church 3 days in a row. Yay, Minnie! As you can see I was busy, busy, busy! Ok, on to the post.

As most of us know October is breast cancer awareness month. So, to raise awareness myself and many other lovely lady bloggers are Participating in Polish Us Pink. I cannot stress enough the importance of mammograms and self self exams. Let's all do our part and spread the awareness. Today's mani is quite the opposite of last weeks soft romantic pink. This is a sheer black base with pink glass fleck and magenta hex glitter. Quite sexy. I don't know why but as soon as I put this on Santana's Maria Maria came to mind. I wanted to put on some black fishnet stocking and stilettos. Haha! Ok, on to the mani. Pictures do not do this mani justice, the pink glass fleck just sparkles like no tomorrow! I used a black base color, one coat of this and topped with Poshe TC. I'm using the same pic twice just rotated because it seems to bring out the colors in a different way.

Have a great day! D

Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! :D I hope you all are having an awesome week.

Before I start. I won't be providing links because I'm blogging on the go, Sorry :(

I have so much to be thankful for these past 2 weeks. I don't even know where to begin. Let me start by saying, I love social media! Haha! Through social media I've meet some awesome people. Stephanie from Imperfectly Painted tweeted about her friend Daniel Frampton aka Evander Designs. The awesome super talented guy that designed my blog header, business cards and citizen cards for Funky Nails. Now, we're designing something for my bottles, which by the way are going to change. That's why I haven't launched my new collection. Ok, back to the post. Then, I met Dr. Kimberly S. Clay aka @sisterbration on twitter. She tweeted about Oprah's LifeClass coming to Houston. So, I applied for tickets and was picked! I was super shocked to say the least! Haha! Then, I find out LifeClass that day is featuring Joel Osteen, my pastor! Along with Rick Warren. My best friend and I were told (by the same person) some not so nice things. We were basically told we would never have the honor of ever coming close to meeting Oprah Winfrey or Joel Osteen. I'm no judger, but the I God serve is an awesome vindicator! Anyway, that's different story. All this to say, God brings people together for a reason. I'm going to quote something that will bring all this together. I've quoted it before but it's as true now as it was then.

"Our lives have been divinely linked together. I can't write my life story without including you. You can't write your's without including me. God connected us together to make us better. Proverbs says, As iron sharpens iron, so man sharpens another." ~Joel Osteen

This is how I feel about these wonderful people. I don't know if they feel the same way. You, see, I wouldn't have my new totally awesome blog header without Stephanie and Daniel and I wouldn't be going to Oprah's LifeClass without Dr. Kimberly S. Clay. If that's not "divinely linked together," then I sure don't know what is!

Thank you, all of you, for making me a better person. Thank you for sharpening me!

Have a great day! :D

Polish Me Pink

Good morning everyone :D I hope you all had a great weekend.

Today, I have a pink for Polish Us Pink. As many you know a pink ribbon is the color of breast cancer awareness. Last week I saw many tweets about possibly doing breast cancer awareness posts. I asked Susan from the The Subtle Shimmer if I could participate. She kindly said yes, it's open to anyone. If you click on the link, you can read her post about how Polish Us Pink was started. We all know someone or someone who knows someone with breast cancer. Or, some form of cancer. For me it's my mom. To not rehash old feelings, I'll just say that the day the doctor told us my mom was cancer free was a day filled with so much emotion. I wanted to cry so bad when the doctor told us, but I wanted to be strong for my mom. I just got really quiet, because I couldn't talk. I barely spoke on the way home. As soon as I dropped my mom off, I turned on the radio and 'Mother's Love' by KEM came on. I lost all composure and just let go and let God.  I really don't know how I made it home with all the tears. Ok, on to the mani.

I came up with a soft white based pink. It has a soft baby blue undertone with pink, blue and white shimmer, even a bit of turquoise shimmer. You can't really see the blue undertone or the shimmer but's there. I really love this polish! So chic and work appropriate. I used one thin coat and one thick coat for the pic and topped with Poshe TC.

I'm supposed to add links and some other things, but I'm going to have to edit and add those when I get home tonight.

Have a great day :D
