Funky Frenchie

Hi everyone :D I hope you all had a great week and have an awesome weekend :D

I know it I've been posting late, but I've been so busy! Just a quick post.

My nails have taken a beating with all I've been doing to them, they needed a little break. So, I decided to do a very simple and girlie funky frenchie. Ok, I'm not really into girly but this is so dang pretty! I taped my fingers and added Exhilarating, then a cute little sticker design with a rhinestone and topped with SV. Nice and simple.

Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone :D I hope the week has flown by for y'all! I've been super busy, but I'm loving my externship!

Ok, I know it's a late post, but I didn't want to miss Thankful Thursday. If, you follow me on twitter you saw I was at my favorite supply store last week. Well, the owner asked me why I buy so many polish bottles. So, tell him. He then proceeds to tell me about someone who started making nail polish in their garage. I can't exactly remember who he said though, sorry. He says, "If they can do it so can you." I was like how nice, this man doesn't know me. So, to the owner of Best Nail Supply in H-Town thank you for your encouraging words. You made my day even brighter than it was! :D

Sneak Peak

Hi y'all! I hope the weekend was a great one for y'all! We had my nephew and niece over and then my sister-in-law and her kids. We had a house full all weekend. Saturday we lounged at the pool and bbq'd. Sunday we took the kids to see Madagascar 3D. Busy, busy, busy! I was glad for some quiet time to do my nails :D

Ok, today's mani is another sneak peek to show y'all. When I have the whole collection, I'll blog about what my inspiration was for each color. This is a deep honey with gold and bronze fleck glitter, red micro glitter, red and bronze hex, and gold square glitter. I'm down to about 1/2 a bottle. I just love it! I've worn this so many times and get so many compliments. I think I'm going to wear this for my fabulous at 40 birthday party! Gosh, can you tell I love it. hehe Anyway, back to the mani. On my index finger I used a base color I made with on coat of this color, my middle finger and pinky is one coat and my ring finger is two coats.

Weekend Mani

Hi everyone, The weekend is here! I hope y'all have some awesome plans. We're going to be hanging by the pool, q'ing it up!

Just a quick post today, I have a new polish I've been testing for a while now. It's not completing done, but I wanted to show you guys. This is a very pretty rasberry with gold sqaure, red hex, gold micro, and red micro glitter. I'm going to add gold hex glitter to it as soon as it arrives. This is two coats. Depending how you apply polish and how long your nails are, you could use one coat. I did layer it over a rasberry base color with one coat of this and it was awesome! I've gotten so many compliments when I wear this. I have three others that I'm going to release sometime in the future, that'll be showing next week. I'm such a tease, I know! HEHE I hope you like it.

Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone, It's Thankful Thursday! I hope y'all's week has been great so far.

Some of you know why I started to do Thankful Thursday posts. For those of you new to Funky Nails, I started thinking about Thanksgiving, how we give thanks for the many blessing in our lives on this one day. It seems we get so busy living life, trying to survive in this world, we don't take the time to enjoy the small everday blessings. That's how it was for me. I was moving so fast, working all the time, not taking time to enjoy the people and things God was so generously providing me. While, I'm still a work in progress. I've come a long way from the Minnie that was going through life at lightning speed. My mom always says, "You came into this world in 30 minutes. You were in such a hurry to get out and you haven't stopped since." These posts are way for me to slow down, stay humble, and give thanks for the everday day blessings in my life. Sometimes, I miss a week. But, I do them more than I don't and that's what matters :D

This Thankful Thursday I'm thankful for my personal facebook friends. They see Funky Nails creations before I post them for the world to see. I'm always talking about nail polish or showing swatches of my creations. Like they even care about nail polish or what I think are pretty colors, lables or business cards. They could've deleted me, but they didn't. They've been so supportive and patient with me. They share my blog link, they share my shop link, they've purchased Funky Nails polish, they give me kind, supportive, and encouraging words. It's their (and your's too) strength along with God's love and grace that push me to be best me I can possibly be. I couldn't have asked for better friends! Thank you :D

Vibrant layered with Champagne Wishes

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Mine was wonderful. Friday I did a little retail therapy. Saturday I organized and more retail therapy. Macy's had an awesome sale. So awesome I walked out with 5 dresses! Not to mention sunglasses from Marshalls and shoes from Sears. O.O  My weakness (besides nail polish) are sunglasses. Sometimes I pay retail, sometimes I don't. Especially now that I've discovered Marshall's and Ross I can really stock up! I did find a great pair of Versace's, but I wasn't going to pay $70 at Marshall's for them. It's still a great deal, but I'll just wait til they get marked down more (if someone doesn't snag them 1st.) Instead I bought a pair of Steve Madden's for $10. My honey says they're ghetto fabulous. Haha, whatever! I'll just have to find the perfect outfit and be ghetto fabulous! HEHE Then Sunday for Father's Day, we took my honey's dad to Carabba's Italian Grill. If you've never tried it, you should! IT'S SO GOOD! Anyway, that was my weekend :D

I'm going off subject here for a bit. Last week I had to get a new laptop. This photo program is a bit different than the last one I was using, so please bear with me as I get acquainted with this one.

I always wear red on Mondays, it's my happy color. I love red! I'd bathe in it if I'd look like a goddess in red instead of Scary Carrie. HAHA! Anyway, I have on vibrant layered with Champagne Wishes. OMG, this is awesome! Vibrant is a classice red with holo glitter, layered with Champagne Wishes it just sparkles like no tomorrow! Minnie's Fashion Sense

Hi everyone, I hope y'all's weekend is off to a wonderful start. I'm gonna be organizing the house, shipping funky nail mail (YAY!) then off for some retail therapy. Tomorrow is my honey's dad's birthday so the family is going out to lunch after church.

I just love this look. I would totally wear this for a girls night out or a concert. There are so many options with just jeans and a blouse. I see so many possibilities here.

I saved this for last. I absolutely love this outfit! I tweeted that I'm looking for the perfect Gucci outfit for my fabulous at 40 birthday. I've searched high and low but nothing screams out to me. It's like the perfect black dress that I've been searching for, for about 10 years and just can't find. Anyway, back to the outfit. I know this outfit is white, I'm looking for this in black. Because, I am totally gonna rock it on my birthday!

Hi everyone! It seems like forever since I've posted. I've had a very busy week, then yesterday the laptop gave it's last breath. Now, I'm all set up with a new laptap. Funky Nails has officially launched!

Hi everyone, I'm so nervous and excited! Today, Funky Nails has launched. This day has been a long time coming. I'm literally crying as I'm writing this post.

I'm so thankful and honored that you all followed me from Funky Frenchies. I'm so nervous because, I don't know if anyone will come or if you'll even like my creations and that's a scary thing. I'd never just assume you'd all come and that you'll just love what I've created. I'll never think that way. I know we all work hard for our money. I don't assume you'd spend it on me.

I'm excited because this is a new and wonderful chapter in my life. I never in a bazillion years thought I'd do something like this. I know you are probably tired of hearing me talk about God, but I can't exclude His part in all this. Which, is all of it. That's why I started this post with one of my favorite verses and why I'll finish with another. My heart is so full of songs of praise to the wonderful God I serve. I could not have done this without him.

Ok, this is the deal. After looking at many ecommerce sites. I decided to go with ecrater. Since, I'm new I didn't want to pay anyone fees and a percentage of sales. So, after thinking (praying) about it, ecrater was the best option for me.

Sara over at Lacquer Addictions will have swatches of the entire Funky Nails collection posted soon. There was a power outage in her area and she's been without internet for most of the week. As soon as she's up and running I'll be sure to link you all to her blog. Be sure to check out and follow her awesome blog in the mean time. She does have a swatch of exhilarating. :D

I've been working really hard this week getting shipping rates in for you all. I still have some countries to ad, if your's isn't on there just let me know and I'll ad it ASAP. Let me tell you, it was like reading chinese at first, but then the light came on. Haha! Anyway, the shipping rates are comparable to most sites. Any purchases over $60 qualifies for free shipping. I didn't ad any sets to the site, because the shipping matrix doesn't recognize two different weights so I had to remove the sets :( If by any chance you get some outlandish shipping rate, PLEASE let me know. I'm not trying to charge a handling fee. You can email or tweet me and I'll be happy to help in any way. I want this to be a pleasurable buying experience. On a side note, I'm doing my externship, for the next 5-6 weeks starting Monday I will only be able to ship on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone, I hope y'all's weeks has been a great one. The week has literally flown by for me. So much to do!

It's Thankful Thursday. I'm thankful to Susan from the The Subtle Shimmer. I consider her to be my  blogger bestie :D I've shared so many of my dreams and goals, and where I want to take Funky Nails in the future. She's probably Funky Nailed out. Haha! Getting Funky Nails started has been an awesome experience, with it's rewards and it's challenges. She's been a great source of information and has given me some wonderful advice. Sometimes, people just don't have time or just don't want to help. Not Susan, every time I've reached out to her, she's been quick to respond. She's encouraged and supported me from the very beginning of my journey. Thank you Susan for being a wonderful friend to me.

Every Woman Swatches

Hi everyone, I hope you all are having a Terrific Tuesday and had a great weekend. I've been so busy the last few days.

Saturday, was a day filled with parties. Sunday and Monday I was labeling bottles, setting up store, swatching, and buying supplies. Today, I have to finish labeling bottles, inventory bottles, print business cards, and figure out this shipping matrix, make 75 bottles of polish, swatch four more polishes. Not too much. LOL Anyway, you all don't want to hear all the boring details, on to the post.

I realized, I haven't properly swatched the Every Woman Collection. Yesterday was an awesome swatch day. The sun was shining, providing me with the perfect time to swatch these for you. Sara over at Lacquer Addictions will have swatches of this collection, Lifes Styles of the Rich and Famous, and For the Troops on Saturday.

All pics are 2 coats with SV BC and no top coat. Each pic is in direct sunlight and shade, with the exception of Chic. I didn't ad it because the shade pic was more accurate.

Vibrant is a classic red with holo glitter.

Diva is a black purple with purple and red shimmer.

Daring is a seaweed green with green shifting to blue shimmer.

Exhilarating is pink with pink and purple simmer.

Chic is a tan nude with gold shimmer.
